A community teaching studio
“A good teacher is one who makes themselves progressively unnecessary.”
Stage 1: Direct Instruction (I do, you watch) — The teacher models the skill and provides foundational knowledge.
Stage 2: Guided Practice (We do together) — The teacher scaffolds the learning, stepping in to offer hints and correct mistakes.
Stage 3: Independent Practice (You do, I watch) — The learner takes the lead while the teacher observes and provides high-level feedback.
Stage 4: Mastery (You do, I step away) — The learner internalizes the process, troubleshoots their own problems, and no longer needs the teacher’s guidance
